Based on absorption / glycol technology (TEG)

– most common drying method in natural gas plants
– the mass transfer takes place in an absorber on the very large surface area of the structured packings in counterflow between glycol and natural gas
– glycol absorbs water from the gas and is dried thereby
– rich glycol is regenerated and flows back to the absorber
